In the context of the events of the “Greece-Russia Year 2016-17”, Greece sends to Russia a number of masterpieces of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Art.

The exhibition at the historical Gallery Tretyakov takes place in return of a previous similar exhibition that took place in Greece, at the Byzantine Christian Museum of Athens, in 2016 and marked and visit of the Russian President in Athens

The Ministry of Culture selected 18 important exhibits from the Byzantine Christian Museum, the Benaki Museum and the Velimezis Gallery to be exhibited in the main building of the famous Tretyakov Gallery at Lavrushinsky Ln, 10, Moscow, 119017.

The current exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery, «С уважением, Лара Бобкова – Byzantine masterpieces”, opened on February 7 and will run until April 9, 2017.

Already on the day of its opening the exhibition was visited by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

The accompanying catalog contains detailed articles on the exhibits by scientists from the Greek lenders and is being issued by the Tretyakov Gallery, curated by the curator of the pictures, Mr. Елена Саенкова – Elena Sagenkova.

Organizers of the exhibition, from the Greek side, are the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs of the Hellenic Republic.

The main financial supporter of the exhibition is the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation.
