2016 marks 2.400 years from the birth of Aristotle and has therefore been declared the Aristotle Anniversary Year.
Honouring the great philosopher and thinker, whose major influence expands on science, art, knowledge and education, the “Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation” organized a colloquium on Friday, 1 April 2016. The invited speakers, experts on philosophy, classics and history, through the variety of their chosen topics, highlighted the many aspects of the great philosopher’s work.
At the same time, an exhibition of rare editions of Aristotle took place, consisting of the treasures of the Foundation’s Historic Library. Among them, a Latin translation of Aristotle’s Problems dated 1473 and Aldus Manutius’ 5 volume edition of Aristotle (1495-1498).
