The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation and the families of Panos and Thanasis Laskaridis have the great pleasure and honor to announce the acceptance by the Hellenic Navy of their donation of the educational boat KYKNOS (Greek for SWAN).
This is a 36 meter-long boat, built at the ESTEREL shipyards, in France. It will be used primarily for the training of our naval cadets. The Donors believe that the operation of the vessel will help the Navy to train future officers, permitting better operational exploitation of other units of the Navy.
The boat will continue to bear the name KYKNOS I, in honor of the late Constantine Laskaridis.
The Foundation feels obliged to thank the Department of Defense, the Hellenic Navy General Staff and their leadership for the acceptance of the donation.
