The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation announces the 4th National Competition in Violin for awarding the Ismene Karter Scholarship.
The competition is held with the kind sponsorship of Mrs. Ismene Karter, distinguished violinist and violin professor of the Athenian Concervatory, dedicated to the memory of her late husband George Karter, prominent intellectual, journalist and director of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT).
Recipients of the scholarship should be Greek or Cypriot citizens pursuing postgraduate studies in an acknowledged Academic Music Institution of their choice abroad (Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech RepublicDenmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Moldova, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine).
Only students who have already been accepted in an Institution of the above countries are eligible to compete.
The scholarship is granted for two (2) consecutive academic years, beginning with 2017.
The annual amount of the scholarship is ten thousand Euros (€12,000), thus the total amount of the scholarship is twenty thousand Euros (€24,000).
The competition will take place in the last ten days of September 2017, in the Golden Room of Hotel Grande Bretagne before the appointed panel of judges.
Applications for the competition will be accepted until 31 August 2017, accompanied with all required supporting documents. Applicants should submit their application form, stating their country of preference for pursuing their studies, at the “Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation” (Praxitelous 169 & Bouboulinas, 185 35 Piraeus, info@laskaridou.gr) via email or post before the appointed deadline.
