The new edition of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, which brings together, edited and enriched, the presentations of the colloquium that took place at the Foundation on 13 April 2019, is published.

The volume features distinguished scholars from Greece and abroad who deal with book history from the dawn of typography, as well as representatives of Athenian libraries with incunable editions in their collection, who document a selected work from each collection with emphasis on its particularity.

The volume is dedicated to the memory of Dennis E. Rhodes (1923-2020), pioneer of the study of the incunables in Greece. It includes articles by Cristina Dondi, Dennis E. Rhodes, Geri Della Rocca de Candal, Nicolas J. Barker, Giannis Kokkonas, Agamemnon Tselikas, Astrid Balsem, David Speranzi.

On behalf of the Athenian libraries participate with their presentations: Elli Droulia (Library of the Greek Parliament), Leonora Navari and Maria Giouroukou (Sylvia Ioannou Foundation), Athena Zoupanti, Maria Xenariou, Mirka Palioura and Konstantinos I. Stefanis (Finopoulos Collection, Benaki Museum), Irini Solomonidi (Gennadius Library), Nikolas Sarris, George Stavratis, Christina Tsaroucha, Marilia Apostolaki, Katerina Lygnou (National Library of Greece), Venetia Hatzopoulou (IPA / MIET), Aggeliki Papadopoulou, Kleopatra Kyrttata and Vera Andriopoulou (Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation).

The publication aims to present to the general public the incunable editions and their importance for the history of printing, as well as the international research trend to contribute to book history study in Greece and to trigger further research and dialogue within this. emerging field.
