The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation presents a new website, dedicated to the icons of the famous Emilios Velimezis Collection.
The famous Velimezis Collection is the only published private collection of icons, whose works cover six centuries of artistic production, from the 15th to the 20th century.
In the new website, the complete Velimezis Collection is digitally presented for the first time, together with photographs, analysis of the artworks, bibliography and publications, while all the information regarding the history of the collection, from its composition by Emilios Velimezis (1901-1946), until today and the donation of a significant part of it by the families of Christos and Emilios F. Margaritis and Alexandros G. Makris to the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, is available. An important part is dedicated to the journey of the icons in dozens of museums around the world.
