The Ministries of Finance and Defense approved the proposal of the President of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, Mr. Panos Laskaridis, to finance the construction and delivery to the Air Force of a PIKILOS9 speedcraft, in order to be used as a training tool in the 120 A Kalamata. Among other training, the 120 Air Training Wing includes the Marine Survival Training School (SETHE), which has the mission of providing theoretical and practical training in marine survival and rescue. The training is addressed to pilots of the three branches of the Armed Forces, to the air crews of foreign Airlines, as well as to members of civilian rescue organizations and associations.

The parasailing speedboat allows for training in the landing and survival at sea of pilots and aircrews with minimum use of aircraft and helicopters for this purpose.

Mr. Laskaridis’s donation aims to enhance the ability to provide better training, at less cost for the Armed Forces.
