EVENT “Those Infidel Greeks”: The Greek War of Independence through Ottoman Archival Documents

On Tuesday 2 November 2021 at 19.30, two leading historians, Thanos Veremis (University of Athens) and Cemal Kafandar (Harvard University), have met to discuss the Greek War of Independence, on the occasion of the publication of a new edition of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation “Those Infidel Greeks”: The Greek War of Independence through Ottoman Archival Documents.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Center for Middle Eastern Studies of Harvard University and was held online, through the zoom platform, in English.

The curator of the publication Dr. Sukru Ilicak (Institute of Mediterranean Studies), attended the event, while the Vice President of the Foundation, Mrs. Katerina Laskaridis, addressed a greeting.
