On 10-11 October 2017, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation organised the 3rd “SYNERGY” International Conference and Workshop “Promote inclusion… end exclusion” in collaboration with the organization AT-Autism UK. SYNERGY is an international research program for the training of teachers on identifying, understanding, preventing and treating behavioral problems (challenging behavior) within the classroom. This innovative program is drawn up by the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, which is responsible for the implementation of the program in Greece, in cooperation with the institute AT Autism (Britain), Inspire (Malta) and Bond University (Australia).

At the conference experts and audience had the opportunity to learn about the practical results of the program both in schools in Greece and abroad, after three years of implementation. Psychologists, special education and general education teachers and parents from Greece, the United Kingdom, Malta, Denmark and Australia demonstrated the importance of a collaborative approach linking schools, educational staff, parents and other stakeholders, as well as integration and acceptance of diversity. The workshop gave the participants the chance to learn more details about the program.
