The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation is happy to announce the submissions’ deadline extension for the industrial design competition which focuses on the three pillars of the Second Nature Initiative: Marine Plastic Waste, Blue and Circular Economy and New Technologies.

We aim at sourcing young designers (18-35 y.o.) candidates that will present a product with a strong design that incorporates the above ideas. An important factor in the selection process is that these ideas and products can evolve into a solid business proposal with a future and a place in the specific product area.

What the judges will be looking for:

  • An appealing design concept

  • A functional item that promotes environmental awareness while incorporating the idea of upcycling marine waste

  • An item that has the potential to evolve and find itself directly in the marketplace, as a sustainable business idea
