The book and paper conservation lab of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation participated for the 5th consecutive time in the celebration of the European Day for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage. On Sunday, October 15, 2023, a display of old books from the Leo Delwaide, Bibliotheca Graeca and P. C. Laskaridis collections took place. At the same time, we discussed the different bookbinding types and techniques, the constructive materials used for books, the most common types of damage to books and the proper methods of restoring them. On this occasion, 11 items were displayed, 5 of which had been restored in our conservation lab. Using a photographic archive, our visitors had the opportunity to see the state of preservation of the books before their conservation and during the conservation treatments, as well as the physical items up close after their conservation. In addition, a guided tour of the temporary exhibition “Greek Literature in Early Printing: Incunabula from the Collection of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, Aristotelian Editions in Early Printing” was held.
