The library was donated to the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in 2014 by Mirela Simota. It consists of approximately 6,200 theological books, providing a comprehensive overview of all religions. More specifically, it includes works in the fields of theology and history of the Old Testament, Jewish archaeology, history, and theology of the New Testament, history of religions, philosophy and psychology of religion, dogmatics and history of doctrines, homiletics, catechetics, pastoral theology, patrology, apologetics, ethics, and more. It is accompanied by his personal archive.

Biography
Panagiotis Simotas (1927-2010) was a professor of Theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He studied at the Theological School of the University of Athens and at the École Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jerusalem, where he participated in the excavations that brought to light the findings of Khirbet Qumran. He pursued postgraduate studies at the Universities of Tübingen, Bonn, and Louvain and was awarded a doctorate from the Theological School of the University of Thessaloniki. He initially worked in secondary education, collaborated with the University of Tübingen, and later was appointed to the University of Thessaloniki, where he served for over 20 years until his voluntary resignation. His writing career, spanning over 50 years, included 50 independent works and studies, 112 book reviews, 470 bibliographic notes, and 9 obituaries published in Greek and international scientific journals. He collaborated with the Hellenic Bible Society, for which he translated three books of the Old Testament from the Masoretic Hebrew text into Modern Greek: “Isaiah,” “Lamentations of Jeremiah,” and “Job.” He delivered numerous lectures and radio talks, and was a member of many scientific and theological councils, associations, and committees. He was honoured with ecclesiastical medals and an award from the Academy of Athens.
