The legal library of Aristidis Skliros is estimated to contain approximately 1,500 items and was donated to the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in 2018 by his granddaughter, Ioanna-Maria Sklirou.

Biography

Aristidis Skliros (1890-1976) was a lawyer and politician. Born in Athens, he came from an old family of pre-revolutionary local leaders. He studied law at the University of Athens and participated in the Balkan Wars. He practiced law from 1915 for 40 years. Politically, he was influenced by Alexandros Papanastasiou and Georgios Papandreou, with whom he maintained a long personal friendship. He served as the first Mayor of Athens after the liberation from the Germans. He remained active in politics for many years and served as a representative of the Legal Office of the political party “Enosis Kentrou”.
