The library of historian Xeni Baloti

The library was donated to the Foundation in 2025 through the generous donation of her family. It consists of approximately 9,700 items, mainly on the subject of Modern European history.

Xeni D. Baloti (1963-2022) was a historian. She was born in Athens. She studied history at the Sorbonne University (Paris IV), where she completed her doctoral thesis on Contemporary European History. She was a researcher at the Academy of Athens (Modern Greek History Research Centre) and at the Army History Directorate. She taught at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the Department of Journalism, and also worked at the European Commission as an external expert on vocational training and guidance issues. She has published books on historical subjects, as well as independent studies and articles in scholarly journals and the press.
