The library was acquired by the Foundation in 2020 through a kind donation from his wife, Ioli Vingopoulou. It consists of approximately 1,700 items, mainly on the subjects of Byzantine archeology and history. It is accompanied by his photographic archive.

Biography
Thanasis Papazotos (1951-1996) was a Byzantinist. He studied at the University of Thessaloniki and in 1975 started working for the Greek Archaeological Service. He submitted his PhD thesis at the University of Crete in 1984; this work (about the monuments and the town of Veroia of the Byzantine and post-Byzantine periods) was later published and awarded a praise by the Academy of Athens. His work involved archaeological digs, scientific research and publications.
