Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation-From the Printing Press to the Library

From the Printing Press to the Library

Old books, new stories

After the successful first lecture series, entitled “From the Printing Press to the Library: People and Stories Behind the Production of Books,” we return with a second series featuring new and engaging themes related to books. Drawing from the rare and valuable holdings of the Historical Library, especially those presented in the temporary exhibition 30 Years, 30 Books: Tiny, Mighty, Precious, Rare, we focus on the material aspects of books: paper, bookbinding, decoration and printing techniques.

Each presentation will be followed by an in-depth discussion and presentation of related material from our collections, as well as, demonstrations of equipment and techniques by the speakers.

The lectures are addressed to professionals, researchers, and students in the field of the book, collectors, and bibliophiles of all kinds.

Registration required. Free attendance.
