Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation-New grantee in collaboration with the Consortium of European Research Libraries

New grantee in collaboration with the Consortium of European Research Libraries

Further enrichment of MEI and PDA databases with material from the incunable collection of the Historical Library.

We are delighted to announce our collaboration with our new grantee, Jemima Bennett, aimed at highlighting and promoting the rich incunable collection of our Historical Library!

Our collection is constantly being enriched and today counts 157 titles in 169 copies. Jemima Bennett is a PhD candidate at the University of Kent in collaboration with the Bodleian Libraries of Oxford. Under the supervision of the Historical Library team, she is working on the detailed records of provenance marks of the Library’s recent aquisitions in the Material Evidence in Incunabula database. In addition, she is responsible for adding the corresponding high-resolution photographs in the Provenance Digital Archive.

The grant is offered by the Consortium of European Research Libraries (CERL) and gives young professionals in the field of book history the opportunity to work for a month on innovative CERL projects related to rare books and archives in libraries across Europe and America. After our successful collaboration with our 2024 grantee, Tom MacKinnon, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation participates once again in this initiative, supporting early career scholars while also contributing to further research and promotion of our rare books.
