The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation and its Historical Library are pleased to announce the acquisition of the Loverdos Library, a famous collection of old books, manuscripts and other historical material.
The Loverdos Library includes among its hundreds of incunabula very important documents of ancient Greek literature as well as important sections of Travel books, History, Book History, Literature, Art and other areas of Greek and foreign literature. The collection also includes an excellent quality copy of Rigas’ Charta as well as a large number of manuscripts.
The Loverdos Collection will be an important complement to the Historical Library of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation and will be made available to readers and the educational and research community after its immediate re-cataloguing.
We warmly thank the Loverdos-Koutarellis family for donating this very important collection to our Foundation.
