The collection came to the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in 2017 and is estimated to contain approximately 6,000 items. It focuses primarily on Greek history (Byzantium, the Greek War of Independence, Asia Minor and the Asia Minor Catastrophe, the Megali Idea), political, economic, and social sciences, education, Greece’s relationship with the Mediterranean and Balkan countries, as well as studies on Cyprus and Turkey. It also includes biographies and works of significant political figures.

Biography

Evangelos Chatzimanolis (1939-2011) was an economist who worked in Greece and Germany. He studied Economic Sciences and Sociology at Saarland University. In 1971, he completed his PhD in Economic Sciences at the same university, with which he collaborated in various academic positions until 1975. From 1976, he worked in Greece, collaborating with businesses and as a freelancer. He served as an envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Libya, CEO of the German ASKO AG, and the company TROFO. He conducted a significant number of scientific and technical studies in his field.
