"IF" I recognize - I react - I face. Programme for the prevention of child abuse

 

The Mental Health Department of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation designed and implements, in collaboration with approved bodies, the program AN Recognize – React – Face, with the aim of raising awareness, training and informing about the particularly important issue of child abuse.

With modern content, the actions respond to the challenges of everyday life and the demands of the educational and social environment, which are changing rapidly. The AN program  is approved by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs with no. license F.2.1/ΜΓ/66603/111050/Δ7.

Στόχος

The program is addressed to teachers of all specialties of general and special education of Secondary Education, Principals and school psychologists.

The aim  of AN is to cultivate the skills of the school community, through knowledge and strategies, in order for students and teachers to recognize, react and deal with abuse phenomena. At the same time, it promotes the change, in general, of the social perceptions that cause these phenomena, the empowerment of students to develop healthy relationships based on mutual appreciation and mutual respect and the facilitation,  Ultimately, children who have suffered some form of abuse to speak openly about what they have experienced.

Πιλοτική εφαρμογή

In the first phase of the program, during the school year 2021-2022, ten (10) schools in Attica and Crete were selected for the pilot implementation.

Principals, teachers, school psychologists and experts of KEDASY of these schools attended training meetings with specific topics and special instructors.

From January to April 2022, students of the B’ Gymnasium  of the selected schools participated in a total  of 62 educational activities of the program, in Attica and Crete.
