On Friday, October 10, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation was visited by a team of midwives and obstetricians from Semmelweis University (SOTE) of Hungary. The team came to Greece for an educational trip, which included a visit to the Alexandra General Hospital in Athens and a tour of the newly renovated “Marilena Laskaridis” labour ward.
Dr. Christina Laskaridis, donor of the renovation, greeted the visitors during the event at the hospital. Dr Laskaridis spoke of the successful conclusion of the project, the services provided after the renovation, and their importance for an overall positive experience of birth.
Afterwards, the team visited the Historical Library of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, where they were informed about the Foundation’s activities. They were also able to tour the exhibition “30 Years, 30 Books. Tiny, mighty, precious, rare” and closely observe a rare copy of Galen’s work, printed in Basel in 1538.
The team was accompanied by consular Alexandra Pető and Mrs. Gabriella Kállay from the Hungarian embassy in Greece.
