In the heart of the Historical Library of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, a unique object has disappeared. The smallest and rarest book in the collection has gone missing under unknown circumstances, leaving behind traces that only the most observant investigators can decipher. And so begins a mission filled with mystery, riddles, and thrilling discoveries!
“The Big Secret of the Tiny Book” is an original escape room-style activity, a game of exploration and puzzle-solving inspired by the treasures of the Historical Library. Participants take on the role of investigators and are challenged to uncover the lost book by following clues hidden within the pages of other old editions. Illustrations, maps, inscriptions, ex libris, and other concealed messages serve as guides in a fascinating journey through the library’s shelves.
As players navigate the specially designed space, they uncover stories about the books, their previous owners, and their travels through time. The puzzle design is based on real items from the collection, enhancing the sense of authenticity and discovery.
The experience aims to offer participants—children and adults alike—a fresh perspective on the importance of historical research and the preservation of knowledge, through an exciting search-and-discovery game.
At the end of the game, explorers can visit the exhibition “30 Years, 30 Books: Tiny, Mighty, Precious, Rare,” where they will encounter the impressive setting of the Historical Library and many of the books that were key to solving the mystery.
