The library was transferred to the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in 2022 and is estimated to contain approximately 6,500 items, primarily focusing on contemporary history and literature, in Greek, Turkish, and other languages.

Biography

Neoklis Sarris (1940-2011) was a lawyer and politician. Born in Istanbul and passed away in Athens, he attended the Phanar Greek Orthodox College (called in Greek the Great School of the Nation) and later studied Law, Political and Economic Sciences at the Universities of Athens and Istanbul, and Psychology in Geneva. He earned his doctorate from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He taught the sociology of history at Panteion University, with a focus mainly on the Ottoman period, and psychosociology at the University of Zurich. At the age of 20, he served as a political advisor to Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras. He was an advisor and collaborator of the Presidents of the Democratic Center Union (E.DI.K.), Georgios Mavros and Giannis Ziegdis, and later served as President himself. In the 2009 elections, he was a candidate with the Democratic Renewal party. He frequently participated in international and local conferences and events, particularly presenting on Turkey’s foreign policy. He published extensively in scientific journals and the daily press, mainly on national issues, and wrote forewords for many books by Greek and Turkish academics.
